This lovely polished cut Sonoran Sunrise is wire weaved with intricate love in copper wire. I used 20 gauge bare copper base wires, with 30 gauge bare copper wire, and 20 gauge half round wire for the coiling. I oxidized this pendant using Liver Of Sulfur which is a chemical that tarnishes the metal so that it has more definition and beautiful characteristics. Sonoran Sunrise is a trade name for an eye-catching red and green gem material. It occurs naturally as a rock composed mainly of bluish-green chrysocolla and bright red cuprite. That color combination can be cut into beautiful cabochons that suggest a green landscape under a brilliant red sky. The little green stone at the top is called Peridot.
Peridot is of Greek Origin. Peridot was mined out of the Egyptian Island of Zagbargad. (Arabian for Olive). About 2500 years ago the Egyptians made beads using Peridot. It was also used in other jewelry in Greece, and Rome in the 3rd and 4rth centuries. This pendant is very unique and I enjoyed every weaving moment. The frame is unique and is what holds the stones in place. This would be an amazing and unique gift for friends and loved ones!

This will come with an 18" Long black polyester chord that is silky soft for you to wear and enjoy!

I price my wire weaved pendants based on the weight of the stone, by price per gram, and how long it took me to wire wrap each stone, as well as the price on the potency and quality of my minerals, and the amount of materials it took.
I find my research from The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Rocks and Minerals, A very deeply informational detailed book.
